Qualifying investors: Follow-up to Vetted
Not every investor in your list is worth contacting about every deal. Covent's qualification workflow gives you a structured way to separate serious, qualified buyers from leads you still need to verify.
The two main states
- Follow-up. New or unqualified investors. These need review before you spend campaign credits on them.
- Vetted. Investors you've confirmed are real, active buyers with a clear buy box. These are your primary audience for time-sensitive listings.
Import, intake forms, and bulk-add default new investors to Follow-up.
Running a review
A "Pending review" banner appears at the top of the Vetted tab whenever investors are waiting on review — click it to open the review wizard. For each investor you can:
- Confirm contact info (and skip trace if missing)
- Set or correct their strategy and buy box
- Mark them Vetted (move to Vetted tab) or keep them in Follow-up
Work through a batch at a time. A progress banner shows how many investors remain to review.
What to look for
Strong vetted investors usually have:
- Verified phone or email
- Recent purchase activity (last 12 months)
- A clear strategy that matches your deal flow
- Proof of funds or history of closing
Everyone else stays in Follow-up until they prove out.
Why it matters
Only contacting Vetted investors for hot deals keeps your send reputation high, improves reply rates, and stops you from burning carrier credits on cold leads. Follow-up investors can still go into longer nurture campaigns, just not urgent showings.
