Importing investors from a CSV
If you already have an investor list in a spreadsheet, you can bring it into Covent with the CSV import wizard instead of re-entering data by hand.
Start the import
From the Investors page, click Add investor > Import a list. Drop your CSV file (up to 30 MB) or pick it from your computer.
Map your columns
Covent tries to auto-match your column headers to fields like Name, Phone, Email, Entity type, Strategy, and Buy box. Review the suggestions and correct anything that's wrong. Unmapped columns can either be ignored or attached as internal notes.
Review duplicates
If an investor in your CSV matches an existing investor by phone, email, or entity name, you'll see them in the Duplicates step. You can:
- Merge the new data into the existing record
- Skip the duplicate and keep the existing record
- Import as new (rare - only use if they're genuinely different people)
Set defaults
Before the final import, set defaults that apply to every new investor: strategy, preferred contact channel, and vetted status. You can override these on individual investors afterward.
Finish
Submit the import. Investors appear in the Follow-up tab, ready for review and qualification.
