Custom domain and DNS setup

By default, your public Covent pages (listings, intake form, company storefront) live under a Covent-branded URL. With a custom domain, those same pages are served from a domain you own - useful for brand consistency and SEO.

What you'll need

Start the setup

Go to Settings > Branding > DNS Setup. The wizard begins by asking you to pick your DNS provider (GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap, Google Domains, or Other) so it can show provider-specific instructions on the next steps. Then enter the domain or subdomain you want to use and continue.

Add DNS records

Covent shows you the records to add - typically one CNAME record pointing your domain at Covent's public hostname, plus any TXT records needed for verification.

Copy each record using the copy button next to it. Then, in your DNS provider:

  1. Open DNS management for your domain
  2. Add the CNAME record exactly as shown
  3. Add any verification TXT record
  4. Save changes

Wait for verification

DNS propagation usually takes anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. Covent automatically checks the records and shows verification status in the DNS Setup screen. Once verified, SSL is provisioned automatically and your custom URL goes live.

Using subdomains vs root

Subdomains (deals.yourcompany.com) are easier and recommended. Using the root domain (yourcompany.com) is possible with some providers but requires extra setup and sometimes blocks you from hosting a main website on the same domain.
